BLOOD!!!

today the institute was having a blood drive, so I, being such a giving person, decided to give up some of my blood. well the lady comes up to me and asks if I have ever donated blood and I told her that I haven't. so she tells me that it was be a good idea for me to be a double doner. that's where they seperate the blood cells from the plasma and then put the plasma back in you. I guess I thought it would be a cool thing to do. wow, was I completely mislead. I sit down and they give me this foam squeezing thing. I kept squeezing and squeezing and squeezing and squeezing it. It kind of started hurting and I could see that my arm was turning a very unnatural color. All of a sudden the lady tells me to start squeezing the thing faster and faster. then she takes the needle and starts moving it around. ya... that hurt. usually the process is supposed to take about 30 min to a hour. mine probably lasted about 20 min, including the part where she was moving around the needle, so pretty much my blood donation was unsuccesful. me, being me, asked her if that meant that something was wrong with me, but she reasured me that this was not the case. I felt a little better after that. I still got a pin because I, as the lady told me, "rode the big kid ride" today. although I didn't exactly fill a whole bag up, I hope they can still use it. haha... well they of course supplied us with many refreshments afterwards, which I immediatly took advantage of, considering that I barely ate breakfast. that is probably one of the biggest drags of college, I barely ever eat, especially breakfast, so that means by about 9 my stomach is growling uncontrolably. anyways, I was just happy that I was able to do something that will contribute to society. now I can tell people that I quit possibly may have saved their life. haha... actually I wouldn't say that. aftermath of donating consists of me being completly tired, and almost passing out in my sociology class. o well, just another day.

what the nurse didn't have the heart to tell you is that although you rode the big kid bike today, you better stick with the training wheels a little longer.
